Peter Liem in ChampagneGuide.net.
Containing wine from every year between 1986 and 2003, this was disgorged in December of 2010. It shows the character of its old wines in its savory, concentrated depth and kaleidoscopic complexity, feeling layered and finely detailed. Its burnished, patinated flavors are oxidative in personality without being oxidized, retaining a vigorous energy and gripping intensity, and above all, the entire wine feels saturated by chalk, which amplifies the sensations of precision and liveliness. There are some bottles that have longer length, but this one demonstrates an expansive, multi-dimensional fragrance that is characteristic of the cuvée at its best, and it feels highly expressive of both Avize terroir and the Selosse style. Last tasted: 2/11 3 out of 3 stars.

Brad Baker of Champagne Warrior, June 2011
A personal favorite of mine, this is one of those wines that will take your breath away. While still a bit young (only around six months have passed since disgorgement), this is already firing on all cylinders. The nose is full of nutty, spicy citrus emanating from the power of the older portion of the Solera, while the palate is made from ripe and youthfully tart orange, pear, apple and bread dough. You can't be afraid of power and expression if you are going to drink this wine, but if you are a thrill-seeker, then this is the Champagne for you. Drink now or over the next five years – I think primal urges will be satisfied best by drinking it on the younger side. 92-94 points.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, November 2011
As if it were possible, the NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Substance takes things up a notch or three. Montrachet with bubbles might be a good description for this profound, utterly moving Champagne. Waves of rich, sensual fruit supported by French oak and persistent veins of minerality all come together in this deep, totally satisfying Champagne. Even with all of the richness and depth, there is no sense of heaviness at all. This is a decidedly vibrant Substance, with fewer of the more oxidative notes this solera-style Champagne sometimes presents. Readers lucky enough to find it will enjoy one of the world’s truly great wines. 98 points.
