Here the well-layered nose is more restrained with cool and ultra-pure floral aromas that are nuanced by red cherry, spice elements and again a hint of sandalwood. There is an elegant mouth feel to the even more mineral-inflected middle weight flavors that possess a taut muscularity with even a bit more overall depth and length on the overtly austere finish. This will need a few years to really flesh out but the underlying material is certainly present. Burghound 91-94 Sweet Spot Outstanding!Bright red with ruby highlights. Captivating aromas of blackberry, black raspberry, cherry pit and licorice, plus a whiff of buttery pastry. Ripe, dense and suave, with strong acidity and an herbal edge framing the flavors of crushed berries and black cherry. Finishes with serious tannic spine and excellent length. This, too, conveys a low-pH mouth feel. Steve Tanzer 92-94
