A notably ripe and exceptionally spicy nose combines liqueur of black cherry, cassis and earth notes that are very much in keeping with the equally ripe, velvety and seductively textured medium-bodied flavors that possess an abundance of tannin-buffering dry extract. There is good volume on the lovely and unusually understated though tautly muscular finish; indeed this is almost refined though there is enough lurking tannin to strongly suggest that this should enjoy a long aging curve. In short, the 2010 version is a clear step above the quality I usually find with this wine. Burghound 93
