Unlike many of the preceding wines, here the nose is pure and elegant with an array of interesting spice notes adding depth to the black cherry and cassis aromas. There is fine power and punch to the medium-bodied flavors that exude a fine minerality on the intense, dusty and distinctly austere but impressively persistent finish. I like the balance and while there is good upside potential, the style of this will not be for everyone as the austerity is positively Cistercian. Burghound 90-93 Outstanding!
