John Gilman's View from the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2010.
The 2009 Lafarge Volnay AC is a beautiful village wine that shows off all the inherent elegance and purity of the vintage. The very classy nose offers up scents of cherries, red plums, fresh herbs, a touch of cocoa, really lovely soil tones and a touch of vinesmoke in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, fullish and very intensely flavored, with superb focus, moderate tannins, great acids and lovely length and grip on the complex and classic finish. This will be a beautiful bottle. 91 points.
Allen Meadows' Burghound, May 2011.
An ultra-elegant nose features beautiful raspberry, red currant and wet stone hints that are in keeping with the rich, silky and pure flavors that possess a lilting mouth feel that is very Volnay in character, all wrapped in a lacy, balanced and energetic finish. A classic Volnay of charm and grace. 88-91 points.
