Stephen Tanzer Int'l Wine Cellar, Jul/Aug 2007 (Good pale color. Reserved aromas of citrus peel and powdered stone. Rich, silky and fairly large-scaled but with a dense minerally character keeping the wine quite fresh. This boasts almost grand cru-like size and breadth. A powerful, minerally wine with a very long, rising finish that saturates the palate with dusty stone. William Fevre is the largest owner of Fourchaume, with 3.63 hectares of vines in eight parcels. The selection for this wine is based on tasting, but normally features mostly the oldest parcels. 90-93 points
Allen Meadows, Burghound October 2007 A strikingly elegant and pure as white flower and green fruit notes waft from the glass to reveal full, powerful and sappy flavors that retain a fine sense of detail on the penetrating finish that is seriously long. What I like best about this wine though is the underlying sense of harmony because there's size and energy here in spades yet ultimately, it harnesses that to remain a wine of finesse if not delicacy. Absolutely gorgeous and a grand cru in all but name. 91-94 points; Don't Miss! Outstanding!
