A high-toned nose that plays right at the edge of perceptible volatile acidity on the spicy red and black pinot fruit aromas that give way to supple, textured and sweet flavors that are not especially dense flavors though there is a good sense of volume on the firmly but not aggressively structured finish. While acceptable, this is not distinguished in the context of the vintage. Note that the VA in this case is so subtle that I do not view it as a technical fault. Burghound 88-91
