2005 Gevrey-Chambertin – Vieilles Vignes: (from a mix of vines planted between 1922 and 1961 that average 60 years of age). This too is very fresh with deeper register aromas of red berry, black cherry and briar plus traces of game, smoke and iron that merge into concentrated, intense and mouth coating flavors that possess excellent vivacity and punch on the persistent finish. Like the prior wine, the structural elements are ripe and this should age well. Recommended. Burghound (88-91)/2012+
