Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, June 2007
The 2004 Guado al Tasso reveals a layered, nuanced texture filled out by the generous warmth of Bolgheri. Full-bodied and ample on the palate, it offers plenty of sweet dark fruit, licorice, Tuscan herbs and chocolate, with outstanding persistence as well as balance, which is especially evident in a mature use of oak. The 2004 is an opulent and beautifully poised Guado al Tasso that will offer much pleasure over the next decade. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2019.

($90) Intense aromas of black pepper, spices and ripe fruit. Slightly raisiny, but complex. Full-bodied, silky and rich. Stylish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and others. Best after 2010

Deep ruby. Intriguing nose redolent of black cherry, spicy plum, smoke, tobacco and coffee. More rich, ripe black fruits follow on the palate, where the acids are in perfect harmony with the extremely smooth, silky tannins. The complex mocha- and berry-infused finishing flavors linger impressively.
