Allen Meadows, Burghound, January 2007
(a 3.5 ha monopole with 30+ year old
vines). A more elegant mix of red, black, violet, earth, spice and game
notes blends into extremely rich and full-bodied flavors that are dense,
serious, concentrated, palate drenching and complex on the beautifully long
finish. I quite like this as it offers buckets of character and excellent
aging potential. 89-92 points and Outstanding

Deep, bright red. Redcurrant, spices,
iron, tobacco and minerals on the nose. Suave and silky on entry, then rather
closed and inexpressive in the middle. Today the wine's juicy acids and
firm tannins have not yet harmonized. This needs more elevage.
