Allen Meadows, Burghound, July 2007 Discreet notes of pain grille, wood spice and vanilla add nuance to an equally airy, elegant and ever-so-slightly riper nose of green apple, peach and apricot aromas that continue onto the rich and punchy mouth coating flavors that are very stylish and pure if not quite as complex as those of the Champs Gain though the underlying material appears to be just as good. As such, my score offers a small benefit of the doubt that additional complexity will arrive with a few years in the cellar. 91 points and Outstanding
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Sep/Oct 07 ($98) Pale yellow-gold. Classy, soil-inflected nose offers acacia flower, honey and nut oil. Rich, broad, supple and sweet; very 2005 in its texture but without any sense of heaviness. The succulent, thoroughly ripe flavors of ripe pear and flowers are nicely lifted by an element of exotic spice. Finishes broad and long, with an impression of lemony thrust and power. 92 points.
