Stephen Tanzer Int'l Wine
Cellar, Nov/Dec 2006
($80) Pale color. Pungent, expressive
aromas of lemon, lime, crushed stone, mint and minerals. Densely packed
and penetrating, with the definition and cut of the vintage in spades. And
yet this very young wine also boasts a lovely, subtle, slow-mounting finish.
This is accessible already owing to its strong fruit but will age gracefully
for a good 10 to 15 years. 92 points
Allen Meadows, Burghound October 2006
Brioche and obvious mineral notes can be found
on the expressive and perfumed floral nose that lead to stunningly vibrant
and energetic flavors that explode on the hugely long and almost painfully
intense finish. In sum, this is a powerful yet tautly focused wine that
is more a thoroughbred than linebacker and this should give the 2002 version
a serious run for its money. 93 points
