Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, December 2007
Gorgeous, open aromatics lead to layers of silky-textured, opulent fruit in the 2004 Barolo Vigneto Rocche. A multitude of roses, flowers, black cherries and spices flow as this vibrant, pure Barolo blossoms on the palate with superb depth and definition. The only thing it needs is a few more years in the bottle. I would love to see if the 2004 Rocche might one day rival the legendary 1990.

Medium red, a bit less deep than the Arborina. Cooler aromas of currant, rose petal, brown spices and minerals. A serious, minerally wine with lovely floral perfume and lift; a spicy element contributes to the impression of sharp definition. Best today on the back end, which features broad, dusty, silky tannins and aromatically persistent notes of red berries and sandalwood.
