($105)The 2002 Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Le Mesnil Sur Oger offers up rich varietal fruit, honey, orange blossom and mint. The exuberant richness of the year comes through beautifully, as shades of tropical fruit develop in the glass. At the same time, there is more than enough Mesnil minerality to keep things in check. A hint of white truffle lingers on the finish. The 2002 is gorgeous today, but readers who like fully mature wines might like to give this another few years in the cellar. Either way, it is fabulous. Doquet aged about 36% of the wine in oak. Dosage was 4.5 grams per liter. Disgorgement date: December 07, 2010. Vinous/Galloni - 94 points
