Wine Spectator, April 30, 2007
($143) Wonderfully perfumed, with rose, blackberry and a hint of wet earth. Full-bodied, with layers of silky tannins and a long, long finish. Structured. Hard not to drink now, but will be even better with a little more bottle age. 97 points

Bright, dark ruby-red. A vibrant Brunello with crisp, mineral-tinged aromas of violet, sour red cherry, pipe tobacco and licorice, all lifted by a note of citrussy white pepper. Nicely delineated and sweet on the palate, with strong raspberry and hazelnut notes dominating. This subtle and deceptively concentrated wine finishes with incredibly fine-grained tannins and outstanding length. One of the best and most refined Riservas of the vintage. 94 points
