This is still virtually black with earthy, black, spicy fruit and flavors that deliver more earth and distinct chocolate notes. The middle weight flavors are elegant and vibrant with excellent overall balance and length. I have always liked this wine as it is both lovely and refined and displays more sophisticated tannins than several of Mme. Gros' previous vintages, which seemed to emphasize extraction more than finesse. The beautiful fruit/acid/tannin balance should permit this to live for years. Tasted several times since release with consistent notes. Burghound 92
